Step 1: Who is God?
Many websites, teachers and people will try and limit God into just one of his attributes. You may hear, “God is Love” (1 John 4:8) or “God is Just” (Isaiah 30:18) or “God is Holy. (1 Peter 1:15-16)” But the truth is He is all of those things and more. God is God. It’s why He refused to limit Himself to Moses in Exodus 3.
13Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” 14God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.”And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” [Exodus 3:13-14]
In fact, the Bible teaches God is so holy, so loving, so great that no mere human can stand in His presence and live (Exodus 33:20; 1 Timothy 6:16). To understand why, we have to take a real look at ourselves and ask, “Who am I?“
