Step 3: Who is Jesus?
In steps one and two, we saw God’s greatness and our failure to meet His standard (perfection). Jesus, however, did live a perfect life. Then He paid the price for our sin, Therefore, God satisfies His requirement for justice and “.. God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. [Romans 5:8]
Jesus is our Redeemer
He is saving us from the wrath to come (Ephesians 5:5-7).
16“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
Do You Believe?
9because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” [Romans 10:9-11]
8For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. [Ephesians 2:8-9]
Evidence of Your Faith
19You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! [James 2:19]
If God is at work in your life, and you believe “Jesus is Lord. He died for your sin, and rose again on the third day.” Scripture says, you are forgiven. You are now washed clean and able to be seen as Holy to God.
If that has happened, you’ll naturally want to respond to the grace, mercy and forgiveness offered to you by Christ. In other words, “Now What?”
